‘End of Life Care?’
Drs Lawrence McCrossan, Consultant Intensivist, Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Dr McCrossan will discuss issues surrounding the end of life care in critical care and beyond. He will speak on how ethical frameworks, legal statute, case law, and professional guidance, as they apply in the UK, interact when we have to make difficult end of life decisions. He will discuss some of the conflicts and challenges that such guidance pose.

'Rounded with A Sleep: Why We Need To Talk About Fatigue’
Dr Michael Farquhar, Consultant in Sleep Medicine at Evelina London Children’s Hospital
Dr Farquhar discussed how fatigue affects the body and the potential impact on anaesthetists and patients.

The Society was founded in 1930, two years before the Association of Anaesthetists and its motto ‘Dilectis Somnum’ means prized, beloved or delightful sleep.
