Minutes from AGM 11th May 2012

Minutes of the AGM Meeting of 13th May 2011
Minutes were agreed as being accurate.

Report of Honorary Treasurer
PM presented a summary of the accounts from April 2011 to date, reporting that in this last financial year the society had an income of approx. £84k and an expenditure of £53k, with a net profit of over £30k. The majority of this resulted from the profits garnered from the Festschrift meeting of May 2011, with the help of the BJA and Prof. Hunter. Festschrift aside, the main costs in the proceedings of the LSA continue to be catering and venue hire, with the main annual income being from membership subscriptions - currently just under 200 paying members, although not everyone is on the correct sub amount.

PM also pointed out that members can easily access the financial status of the society via the annual returns posted on the Charity Commission website www.charity-commission.gov.uk (the societies charity number is 515768).

Members at the AGM supported the motion to retain Lonsdale and Co accountants and the records of accounts for the FYE 5th April 2012 will be submitted to them in due course.
