Dr Vicky Wroe

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Dr Vicky Wroe died in the early hours of the 28th Feb 2025 at the age of 45. Vicky was an Anaesthetic Consultant at Warrington and Halton Hospital, and a fellow member of the LSA. She died in Wythenshawe Hospital after four days on the Intensive Care Unit. Her family were very grateful for the care and professionalism of the medical team at Wythenshawe.

Vicky began her Anaesthetic training in London before moving to Mersey Deanery to continue her Anaesthetic specialty training.  Vicky joined Warrington and Halton Hospitals Trust in April 2017 as a Consultant Anaesthetist. She lived in Appleton with her husband Steve and their three children Ed, Katie and Esther.

Vicky had an incredible work ethic and held herself to the highest standards. She always ensured her patients received the very best possible care in whatever she was doing in her various roles for the Trust. She was well known in the Anaesthetic Department for going above and beyond not only for her patients, but also for her fellow colleagues.

She was greatly respected by her colleagues in the Anaesthetic Department. These sentiments were also shared by others working throughout the trust including theatres, maternity department and in the Anaesthetic pre-op clinics.

She was an excellent educator. The trainee Anaesthetists enjoyed being with her in theatre and benefited significantly from her teaching sessions.

Vicky was a kind, thoughtful, happy and caring person. As well as inspiring colleagues at work, she was a true friend to many. She will be hugely missed by her own family and her work family in Warrington.
