We had a wonderful meeting with the Manchester Medical Society at a gloriously sunny The Park Royal near Warrington. We were delighted by a host of fascinating and insightful talks on trauma and extreme physiology, thank you very much to all of our presenters. It was a popular event with consultants and resident doctors alike. We also held the Jackson Rees Trainee's Prize alongside a poster competition, congratulations to the winners and the other entrants who have all delivered brilliant work. The winner of the Jackson Rees prize was Dr Rachel Cassin with 'Named reusable theatre hats: a collaborative project between the Mersey and the North West Deaneries'. Whilst the poster competition winner was Dr Gregory Duncan with 'Implementation of flashcards to aid ROTEM© result interpretation'.
